Executive Housekeeper - Luxury Safari Lodge (New Opening) - Northern KwaZulu-Natal Kendrick Recruitment is searching for an experienced and detail-driven Executive Housekeeper for an exciting newly opening luxury safari lodge set within a vast 18,000-hectare Big Five private game reserve in Northern KwaZulu-Natal. This is a large-scale, high-standard operation with an international guest profile - and we need someone who is ready to help build the housekeeping department from the ground up, set the standards and lead the team from day one. Minimum Requirements: Minimum 5 years' housekeeping experience within a luxury lodge environment - essential Previous experience in a senior or executive housekeeping management role - essential Pre-opening or new property opening experience highly advantageous Proven ability to build, train and manage a large housekeeping team from scratch Strong knowledge of housekeeping standards, laundry operations, chemical handling and OE management Experience developing and implementing SOPs and quality control checklists Excellent attention to detail and exceptionally high personal standards Strong administrative skills including stock control, scheduling and reporting Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities simultaneously Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Computer literate - MS Office proficient Valid South African driver's license Comfortable living and working in a remote, live-in lodge environment Stable work history with contactable references - essential Key Responsibilities: Establish and implement the full housekeeping operation prior to and upon lodge opening Develop all housekeeping SOPs, quality checklists and linen/laundry procedures Recruit; onboard, train and develop the full housekeeping team Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and presentation across all guest accommodation, public areas and back-of-house spaces Manage and control housekeeping stock, supplies, chemicals and operational equipment Oversee laundry operations and ensure correct handling of all linen and soft furnishings Conduct daily room and public area inspections to ensure standards are consistently upheld Manage housekeeping staff schedules, performance and leave Liaise closely with lodge management, maintenance and F&B teams to ensure seamless guest arrivals and departures Monitor and manage the housekeeping budget and report on expenses and stock usage Ensure full compliance with health, safety and hygiene standards at all times Package: Gross Salary: R30,000 to R35,000 per month Live-in: Accommodation provided on-site Meals on duty Medical Aid: Company contribution available should the candidate elect to join the company medical aid Provident Fund: Company contributions included Rotation: 3 weeks on / 1 week off Annual Leave: 15 working days per annum Should you feel you are the right fit for this role, please apply with your updated CV, contactable references and a recent head & shoulders photo ASAP! ?
