Job Summary
Director of Estate Experiences We are looking for a hospitality leader to take charge of the guest experience, top to bottom, on behalf of a well-established, boutique wine estate in the Western Cape. This is a senior role and a genuinely good one. You'd own how guests experience the estate, from their first enquiry right through to the relationships that bring them back. Wine, food, events, the whole guest journey sits with you, along with the team that delivers it. The Role You'll lead the guest-facing side of the estate, including tastings, food, events and anything new that comes along. You're the one holding the standards together and making sure every visit feels right. What You'll Be Doing • Own the guest journey end to end, from first enquiry to the follow-up after their visit • Run tastings, food experiences, private appointments, membership events and VIP visits • Build a food offering that draws on local growers and producers • Set the standards and processes that keep service consistent, and keep raising the bar • Recruit, coach and grow a hospitality team people remember for the right reasons • Manage the budget and supplier relationships, keeping things commercially sound without cutting corners • Keep an eye on guest feedback, wine sales and membership numbers, and act on what you see • Build relationships with tour operators, DMCs and travel advisors • Make sure health, safety and liquor licensing are all in order What We're Looking For • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role. • Solid leadership experience in luxury hospitality, premium wine, or somewhere equally guest-focused • A track record of building guest experiences that actually grow the business, not just look good • Good understanding of luxury service, food and beverage, and wine • Comfortable managing budgets, reservations systems and CRM tools • A natural coach who enjoys developing people • A real love of wine, food and hospitality, and the confidence to do things differently • Sharp commercial sense with an eye for detail • A relevant qualification is a bonus, but not a dealbreaker if the experience is there • A valid driver's license Why Take This On • A genuinely rare chance to shape a well-loved estate's future • High visibility, working closely with leadership rather than around them • Varied work across wine, food, hospitality and events, in a stunning setting • Real room to build something and put your own stamp on it Apply If this sounds like you, or someone you know, get in touch. We'd love to hear from you.
