NOW HIRING: Lodge Manager | Luxury Safari Lodge | Mara Region, Tanzania About the Opportunity Kendrick Recruitment is seeking an experienced and passionate Lodge Manager to take overall responsibility for a luxury safari lodge in Tanzania. This is an exceptional opportunity for a driven hospitality professional to lead a five-star boutique operation, combining hands-on guest experience leadership with strong operational, financial and staff management responsibility, while working closely with the wider regional team. Key Responsibilities • Take overall management responsibility for the lodge, including operations, guest experience, maintenance, kitchen, financial and staff management and development. • Provide direct line management to the lodge's senior management team, and indirect oversight of the wider staff team. • Create, manage and control the lodge's budget and forecasts in conjunction with the Lodge Administrator and Regional Finance Manager. • Manage the lodge's capital expenditure programmes. • Lead human capital management and staff development. • Oversee the development and maintenance of all lodge infrastructure, IT and IT security, including emergency response and fire control. • Review healthcare facilities and evacuation arrangements, and oversee environmental health matters such as waste, sanitation and pest control. • Liaise with local, regional and national government and relevant stakeholders, and ensure compliance with local licensing and permits. • Support conservation and community partnership initiatives, and ensure sustainability targets are met and improved year on year. • Ensure the lodge remains risk-assessment compliant. • Manage the lodge's social media presence and ensure a strong internal profile through regular updates and communications. • Travel between camps and lodges as required. • Build on the existing guest experience with fresh, modern ideas across accommodation, food, staff and activities, while staying true to the area's heritage. • Build strong relationships with new and repeat guests. • Maintain and reinforce the lodge's brand standards and service philosophy throughout daily operations. • Ensure property to-do lists are actioned and completed within budget, and maximise procurement efficiencies. Key Requirements • At least 3–5 years' management experience within a 5-star boutique hospitality operation. • Lodge and camp management experience advantageous. • Hospitality and service training experience. • Energetic, proactive and guest-focused, with a strong understanding of world-class guest experience delivery. • Passionate about sustainable tourism and conservation. • Driven, compassionate and ambitious, with strong leadership and mentoring skills. • Unrelenting attention to detail and high standards. • Structured approach with experience leading diverse teams. • Practical, with some maintenance experience; mobile camping/safari experience advantageous. • Open-minded, resourceful and able to think creatively. • Strong ability to motivate and inspire both self and others. • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. • Competent financial and IT skills. • Fluent in English. Package • Salary: Negotiable, depending on experience. • Live-in position in Tanzania. • Medical and travel allowance provided as per company policy.
