Job Summary
Kendrick Recruitment is seeking an experienced and commercially minded General Manager for a luxury boutique hotel in the Robertson Wine Valley. This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on hospitality professional who can lead the day-to-day operation of the property while driving occupancy, revenue and exceptional guest experiences. Location: Robertson Wine Valley, Western Cape Salary: R30,000 per month Position: Live-out The successful candidate will oversee all hotel departments, including front office, reservations, housekeeping, maintenance and food and beverage. They will be responsible for maintaining high service standards, monitoring guest feedback and ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the property. A key focus of the role will be sales, marketing and business development. This will include building relationships with travel agents, tour operators, DMCs, corporate clients and tourism partners, identifying new business opportunities and developing strategies to increase occupancy and revenue. The General Manager will also manage the hotel’s online presence and reputation, work alongside external marketing partners, create promotional packages and represent the property at tourism and networking events. Additional responsibilities include: Managing budgets, costs and profitability Implementing pricing and revenue management strategies Producing regular management reports Leading; mentoring and developing the hotel team Managing staff performance, scheduling and productivity Working closely with ownership to achieve business objectives Candidates should have a minimum of five years’ experience in a senior hospitality management role, ideally as a General Manager, Hotel Manager, Lodge Manager or Operations Manager. Strong sales, marketing, revenue management and business development experience is essential, together with excellent leadership, financial and administrative skills. Applicants should be confident using hotel property management and reservation systems and have a good understanding of online travel platforms and distribution channels. A relevant hospitality or business qualification and a valid driver’s licence are required. Candidates must also be willing to work weekends and public holidays when operationally necessary. The ideal candidate will be proactive, energetic and commercially focused, with a genuine passion for guest service. They should be highly organised, solutions-driven and confident representing the property within the hospitality and tourism industry.
