Group Fleet Manager | Luxury Lodge Group | Nairobi, Kenya ?✨ Kendrick Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced Group Fleet Manager for a prestigious luxury lodge group based in Nairobi. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly organised and technically skilled professional to oversee a fleet of approximately 120 vehicles across multiple properties, ensuring maximum operational efficiency, compliance and reliability. Location: Nairobi, Kenya Property Type: Luxury Lodge Group Salary: Negotiable (DOE) The Role The successful candidate will be responsible for the strategic and day-to-day management of the group’s fleet and workshop operations. This role requires a hands-on leader with extensive fleet management experience, strong mechanical knowledge and the ability to lead technical teams while maintaining the highest operational standards across multiple locations. Key Responsibilities Fleet Management • Oversee the management and performance of a fleet of approximately 120 vehicles across multiple properties • Develop and implement preventative maintenance programmes to maximise vehicle availability and minimise downtime • Maintain accurate fleet records, including servicing, licensing, insurance and vehicle allocation • Monitor vehicle utilisation, fuel consumption and operating costs • Coordinate vehicle allocation and scheduling with property management teams • Ensure all vehicles comply with road traffic legislation, licensing and roadworthiness requirements • Investigate vehicle incidents, accidents and breakdowns, implementing corrective measures where necessary • Advise senior management on vehicle replacement cycles, fleet expansion and procurement strategies • Produce regular fleet performance and cost management reports Workshop Management • Oversee the daily operations of the central workshop, ensuring repairs and maintenance are completed efficiently and to a high standard • Recruit, lead, mentor and develop workshop personnel • Establish and maintain workshop standard operating procedures and best practices • Conduct regular inspections of workshops across the portfolio to ensure compliance with operational standards • Ensure accurate vehicle fault diagnosis and quality workmanship • Manage workshop parts, consumables and inventory control • Maintain detailed service histories and job card records for all vehicles • Prepare and manage workshop budgets while identifying cost-saving opportunities • Liaise with suppliers and contractors to source quality parts and services • Ensure workshop equipment, tools and PPE are maintained and securely managed • Maintain workshop cleanliness and ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations General Responsibilities • Build strong working relationships with operational teams across all properties • Maintain high standards of health, safety and housekeeping • Produce accurate operational and financial reports • Support operational requirements across the group as needed • Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability within a multi-property operation • Lead by example while maintaining a professional, proactive and solutions-focused approach Requirements • Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Fleet Management or a related field • Proven experience managing a large vehicle fleet within hospitality, tourism, logistics or a similar industry • Strong workshop management and mechanical knowledge • Demonstrated leadership experience managing technical teams • Excellent budgeting, cost control and financial reporting skills • Strong understanding of preventative maintenance programmes • Knowledge of vehicle compliance, licensing and roadworthiness regulations • Excellent organisational, planning and administrative skills • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities • Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills • Ability to work accurately under pressure and manage multiple priorities • Proactive, self-motivated and committed to maintaining the highest operational standards This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced fleet management professional to join a respected luxury hospitality group, playing a key role in ensuring the safe, efficient and reliable operation of a large vehicle fleet across multiple remote properties.
