A small luxury safari lodge near Hoedspruit is seeking a dynamic and guest-focused Curio Shop Assistant / Duty Manager to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a passion for hospitality, retail, and guest interaction, who enjoys working in a luxury safari environment and thrives in a hands-on, varied role. The Role The successful candidate will oversee the day-to-day operation of the lodge curio shop while also assisting with duty management responsibilities across the property. This role requires someone who is highly organised, service-driven, and comfortable balancing guest interaction, retail operations, and lodge support duties. Key Responsibilities Managing daily curio shop operations and presentation Assisting guests with purchases and product information Handling stock control, merchandising, pricing, and stock takes Processing sales and maintaining accurate records Ensuring the shop remains beautifully presented and well-stocked Assisting with guest hosting and overall lodge operations Supporting lodge management with duty management responsibilities Assisting with guest check-ins, departures, and guest requests when required Handling administrative and reporting duties related to retail operations Maintaining exceptional guest service standards throughout the lodge Requirements Previous hospitality, retail, or lodge experience advantageous Strong customer service and communication skills Well-presented; professional, and friendly Good administrative and organisational ability Comfortable handling cash-ups, stock control, and retail systems Ability to multitask and work well under pressure Flexible; hands-on attitude and willingness to assist where needed Computer literacy essential Passion for luxury hospitality and guest interaction What We Are Looking For A positive, energetic and reliable individual who enjoys both retail and hospitality environments.
