About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Head of Digital Value Office to establish and lead a high-performing Digital Value Office responsible for enterprise-wide IT governance, portfolio management, compliance, risk oversight, and business value realisation.
This strategic leadership role will ensure digital investments align with organisational objectives, deliver measurable business outcomes, and maintain strong governance across technology programmes and portfolios.
Key ResponsibilitiesIT Governance, Risk & Compliance
- Establish and lead the Digital Value Office as the central governance function for technology investments.
- Develop and maintain enterprise governance frameworks, policies, standards, and controls.
- Oversee IT compliance, information security governance, risk management, and regulatory adherence.
- Implement and manage stage-gate governance processes for technology initiatives.
- Maintain enterprise risk registers and proactively manage technology and vendor risks.
Portfolio, Programme & Project Governance
- Govern enterprise technology portfolios, programmes, and projects.
- Provide executive-level reporting on project performance, risks, dependencies, and delivery status.
- Validate business cases, monitor project benefits, and ensure value realisation.
- Track and manage CAPEX and OPEX expenditure across digital initiatives.
- Oversee vendor performance, SLA compliance, and contractual obligations.
Policies, Standards & Process Governance
- Develop and maintain IT governance policies, change management frameworks, SDLC standards, and operational procedures.
- Ensure governance documentation and approvals are completed prior to deployment.
- Maintain a central repository for governance artefacts, project documentation, contracts, and architecture decisions.
Business Value & Financial Management
- Drive business value realisation across digital transformation initiatives.
- Ensure all projects have defined KPIs, measurable outcomes, and benefits tracking.
- Support investment prioritisation, cost optimisation, and portfolio decision-making.
- Lead governance forums and provide recommendations regarding project continuation, remediation, or termination.
Stakeholder Management & Executive Reporting
- Engage with executive leadership, business stakeholders, and technology teams.
- Prepare governance reports, dashboards, risk registers, and portfolio performance updates.
- Manage strategic vendor relationships and support executive decision-making.
- Ensure governance continuity during organisational and leadership transitions.
Minimum Requirements
- Honours Degree or Master's Degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Technology Management, or a related field.
- ITIL Foundation Certification.
- PMP, PRINCE2 Practitioner, Agile PM, or equivalent Project Management certification.
- Extensive experience in IT Governance, PMO/P3M, Portfolio Management, Digital Transformation, or Enterprise Programme Delivery.
- Proven experience managing large-scale enterprise technology portfolios and governance frameworks.
- Strong knowledge of IT Governance, Risk Management, Compliance, Information Security, and Change Management.
- Experience managing project, programme, and portfolio governance (P3M).
- Strong financial management experience, including CAPEX/OPEX tracking, business case validation, and benefits realisation.
- Experience with vendor management, SLA governance, and contract management.
- Experience within a complex or highly regulated environment will be advantageous.
