We are seeking an experienced Head of Business Applications to provide strategic leadership and governance over a complex business applications environment. The successful candidate will drive digital transformation initiatives, oversee application lifecycle management, and ensure technology investments deliver measurable business value.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain enterprise application architecture and technology roadmaps.
• Lead application portfolio management, governance, and optimisation initiatives.
• Oversee solution architecture and integration across enterprise systems and operational technologies.
• Drive digital transformation projects and modernisation of legacy platforms.
• Manage application vendors, contracts, licensing, and service level agreements.
• Establish and maintain IT governance, risk, compliance, and security standards.
• Manage business application budgets, forecasting, and technology investment business cases.
• Lead stakeholder engagement and organisational change management initiatives.
• Mentor and develop high-performing application and technology teams.
• Champion agile delivery methodologies and continuous improvement practices.

Minimum Requirements

• BSc Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
• 8–10 years' experience in software engineering and application management.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in Enterprise Architecture or Solution Architecture roles.
• Proven experience managing business applications in complex and highly regulated environments.
• Experience integrating ERP systems with Operational Technology (OT), MES, laboratory, or instrumentation systems.
• Demonstrated success managing multi-million Rand technology budgets.
• Strong people management and leadership experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Honours Degree, Master's Degree, or MBA with a technology focus.
• Certifications in TOGAF, ITIL, Agile/Scrum, or Digital Transformation.
