We are looking for a skilled Field Service Technician to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical support, diagnostics, repairs, maintenance, installations and customer service across a wide range of equipment, vehicles and products.
Duties and Responsibilities
Diagnose, troubleshoot, evaluate and resolve technical and mechanical issues on equipment and vehicles in the field.
Perform installations, repairs, servicing, maintenance and testing of products and equipment.
Provide on-site and off-site technical support, diagnostics and repair advice to customers.
Monitor manufacturing, assembly, fitment and service processes to ensure quality standards are maintained.
Liaise with engineering, manufacturing, workshop personnel and customers to resolve technical concerns and improve service delivery.
Conduct final inspections and quality checks prior to equipment or vehicle release.
Deliver customer training and technical guidance to ensure the safe and effective operation of products and equipment.
Maintain accurate service records, timesheets, expenditure reports and technical documentation.
Compile comprehensive diagnostic, failure investigation and technical reports.
Ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety requirements, policies and industry standards.
Manage inventory and assist with process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
Provide professional support to internal and external stakeholders and maintain excellent customer relationships.
Take ownership of ad hoc projects and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Report complex technical issues, operational concerns and project progress to management.
Minimum Requirements
Proven experience in field service, diagnostics, maintenance and repair of mechanical or technical equipment.
Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting abilities.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, manuals and specifications.
Sound understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and diagnostic systems.
Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel extensively.
Strong report-writing and communication skills.
Computer literacy and experience with service reporting systems.
Ability to work independently and under pressure.
Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
