Position Highlights

Our client is seeking an accomplished and dynamic Hospitality Operations Director to lead and oversee multiple hospitality operations within a prestigious wine estate in Franschhoek.

This is a senior leadership opportunity for an experienced hospitality professional with a strong operational background and an essential sales and marketing understanding. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring operational excellence, commercial performance, exceptional guest experiences, and the effective management of multiple departments.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational leadership across the hospitality operations.

• Oversee multiple departments, including restaurants, wine tasting, accommodation, events, reservations, and related hospitality offerings.

• Ensure exceptional guest experiences and consistently high service standards.

• Drive operational efficiency, profitability, and overall business performance.

• Develop and implement operational strategies aligned with business objectives.

• Lead, motivate, and develop management teams across various departments.

• Monitor budgets, revenue, expenses, and departmental performance.

• Identify opportunities to increase revenue through sales, marketing, partnerships, and new business initiatives.

• Work closely with sales and marketing to maximise occupancy, bookings, events, and overall revenue.

• Ensure effective coordination between departments and consistent operational standards.

• Manage guest feedback, service recovery, and continuous improvement.

• Develop and maintain operational procedures, reporting structures, and performance measures.

Minimum Requirements

• Minimum of 10–12 years’ experience in hospitality operations.

• At least 5 years in a senior management or executive leadership position.

• Must have a background in the hospitality industry.

• Sales and marketing experience is essential.

• Proven experience managing multiple hospitality departments or operations.

• Experience in financial management, budgeting, and operational performance.

• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

• Experience within luxury hospitality, wine estates, or premium tourism environments will be advantageous.

• Relevant qualification in Hospitality Management, Business Management, or a related field will be beneficial.

• Flexibility to work weekends, public holidays, and according to operational requirements.
