Luxury Wellness Retreat & Hotel close to Franschhoek is looking for a Scullery / General Worker. Duties: Scullery: Keep the scullery clean, organised and working smoothly Wash; dry and store all equipment and tools with care and attention. Make sure all work areas stay tidy, calm and ready for use Do daily deep-cleaning tasks such as floors, drains, bins and surfaces. Support a safe and clean working space by following hygiene and safety rules Help check that all kitchen equipment is clean and working and report any problems immediately. Communicate any shift handover notes or important feedback so the team stays informed. Stock; Fridges & Freezers Help receive, check and unpack daily deliveries Organise and clean fridges, freezers and dry stores Keep all storage areas neat, ordered and regularly wiped down. Assist with stock rotation (first in, first out) to protect freshness and reduce waste. Share any low stock, waste or quality issues with the Nourishment Leads. General work: Work with the farm team when needed, especially during daily harvest. Help pick, carry, wash and store fresh produce from the garden. Support simple tasks like trimming, sorting and packing produce Keep clear, respectful communication between the garden and the kitchen team Kitchen Support: Give general support to the kitchen team as guided by the chefs and leads. Help with simple preparation tasks when requested (such as washing vegetables or basic organising). Assist during busy service times to keep movement calm and smooth. Support correct waste and recycling systems, keep waste areas clean and free of smell; and inform the team when bins are full. Follow all health, safety and hygiene rules (handwashing, PPE, clean uniform, safe floors). Uphold values of care, respect and reverence for ingredients in every task. Team; Communication & Growth: Communicate clearly and respectfully with the kitchen and farm teams. Take part in basic training for food handling, safety and equipment. Learn about seasonal produce, the garden and kitchen systems. Requirements: Grade 12 A formal qualification will be an advantage At least 2 – 3 years hospitality experience in similar environment
