Our client is a leading supplier of specialised cleaning and hygiene solutions to the food manufacturing industry. They are seeking an experienced Technical Sales Advisor to join their Western Cape team.
This is a field-based sales role where you will be responsible for developing new business, growing existing customer relationships, and providing technical advice on cleaning and hygiene solutions within food manufacturing facilities. You will spend Monday to Thursday visiting customers throughout your designated territory, with Fridays dedicated to administration and online team meetings from your home office.
Key ResponsibilitiesAchieve and exceed monthly sales targets.
Identify and secure new business opportunities within the food manufacturing sector.
Develop and grow existing customer accounts.
Conduct site surveys, hygiene audits, and process evaluations.
Recommend suitable detergent, disinfectant, and sanitation programmes.
Provide technical advice on CIP (Cleaning-in-Place) systems, open plant cleaning, foam cleaning applications, and food hygiene protocols.
Conduct product demonstrations, trials, and implementation support.
Deliver customer training on product application, handling, and safety.
Maintain accurate CRM records, sales reports, and customer visit schedules.
Monitor competitor activity and identify new business opportunities.
Minimum RequirementsRelevant Degree or Diploma in Food Technology, Food Science, Biotechnology, Microbiology, BCom, or a related field.
Minimum 3–5 years' proven external technical sales experience.
Demonstrated success in achieving sales targets and developing new business.
Experience selling products or solutions into the food manufacturing industry.
Strong knowledge of cleaning and hygiene processes within food production environments.
Practical experience with detergent and disinfectant applications.
Knowledge of CIP (Cleaning-in-Place) systems and open plant cleaning applications.
HACCP, GMP, or Food Safety Management Systems knowledge.
Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office.
Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel extensively.
