Maintenance Supervisor - Exclusive Luxury Five Star Property, Cape Town Overview: The Maintenance Supervisor supports the day-to-day maintenance, repair, and upkeep of the property, ensuring that all guest and staff areas are maintained to property standards. The role requires a hands-on approach, sound technical knowledge, and the ability to supervise and coordinate maintenance activities effectively. Key Responsibilities Carry out and supervise preventative and reactive maintenance across the property Ensure guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house facilities are maintained to luxury standards Respond promptly to maintenance requests, prioritizing guest comfort and safety Support and guide maintenance team members in daily tasks Coordinate approved external contractors when required Conduct routine inspections and maintain accurate maintenance records Ensure compliance with Occupational Health & Safety, fire, and statutory requirements Support sustainability initiatives including energy and water efficiency Ideal Candidate High standard of workmanship and pride in the property Calm; professional, and solutions-focused approach Ability to work independently and as part of a team Flexible to work shifts, weekends, and on call as required Qualifications & Experience Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a maintenance or engineering role Proven technical knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general building maintenance Working knowledge of health and safety regulations Strong organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills Demonstrated reliability, professionalism, and attention to detail Basic: R14000.00 – R16000.00 gross salary per month depending on experience Medical Aid: 50% towards the main members’ contribution only Pension: 6% contribution both ways Gratuity: Paid monthly in arrears as per the split calculation. EE: South African Nationals preferred Shift Work: Early: 06:30 -15:30 / Late: 14:00 – 23:00 / Night: 22:00 – 07:00
