Job Summary
PBT Group is looking for an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to join a collaborative technology team delivering enterprise-grade cloud solutions and modern software delivery practices.
This is a 12-month contract opportunity based in Cape Town, with a hybrid working model requiring 3 days per week in-office.
The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience across AWS, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code and automation, with a proven ability to design, implement and optimise secure, scalable cloud environments.
Key Requirements:
Strong senior-level DevOps / Cloud Engineering experience
Extensive hands-on AWS experience
Strong CI/CD experience using Azure DevOps and/or GitHub Actions
Terraform / Infrastructure as Code
Docker & Kubernetes
Strong Linux and scripting experience – Bash, Python or PowerShell
AWS services including EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, ECS/EKS, IAM and CloudWatch
Experience with monitoring, logging, troubleshooting and production support
Strong understanding of DevSecOps, automation and cloud security
Experience working in Agile environments
Ability to work closely with Developers, Architects and Infrastructure teams
Advantageous:
AWS certification, Helm, Ansible, Prometheus/Grafana, SonarQube and experience within microservices environments.
We're looking for someone who is technically strong, automation-focused and comfortable taking ownership of cloud infrastructure, deployment pipelines and operational reliability.
