Our client, an established organization focused on dynamic retail spaces in the Western Cape, is seeking a seasoned Leasing Manager to lead their leasing operations, foster tenant relationships, and drive sustainable rental growth.

Duties:

• Assist in formulating, implementing, and managing the leasing strategy for the shopping centre.
• Engage with tenants to negotiate leases and close deals.
• Manage tenant screening processes such as TPN checks and surety reviews.
• Coordinate and oversee all lease documentation, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
• Actively manage and reduce vacancy levels within the mall.
• Maximise rental income through effective lease renewals and new deals.
• Establish and maintain relationships with new tenants entering the market.
• Ensure timely management of renewal processes.
• Monitor and verify deposits and bank guarantees.
• Oversee the lease compliance process prior to sign-off by Regional Management.
• Upload and archive all signed leases on MRI, maintaining accurate schedules.
• Provide weekly updates to senior management and submit comprehensive monthly reports.
• Liaise with auditors and valuers regarding lease and property valuation audits.
• Support the drafting of annual budgets and financial forecasts.

Requirements:

• Matric and a relevant Degree or Diploma.
• Minimum 5 years of related leasing experience in a retail environment.
• Proven ability to maintain strong tenant relationships.
• Strong management and performance oversight skills.
• Knowledge of RPE and negotiation techniques.
• Excellent organisational and documentation management skills.

Familiarity with the following:

• MRI lease management system
• Lease compliance protocols
• Property valuation processes
