Job Summary
Our Client in the Architectural Industry is seeking to employ a Projects Consultant (Business Development and Sales) to their team based in Brooklyn, Cape Town.
Requirements:
- Valid Grade 12 certificate.
- Relevant tertiary qualification advantageous; substantial industry experience will also be considered.
- At least 5-7years’ experience in sales, public relations or interior design.
- Minimum 4–6 years’ relevant industry experience.
- Proven experience working with Architects, Developers, Quantity Surveyors, Interior Designers, and Contractors.
- Strong knowledge of the building, construction, architectural, and specification sales environment.
- Experience in project-based selling, key account management, tender procedures, and construction project timelines.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, plans, and specifications.
- Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and CRM systems.
- Existing network within the architectural and construction industry would be advantageous.
- Willingness to travel extensively for client meetings, site visits, and industry events.
- Valid driver’s license essential, as the role requires daily travel to existing and prospective customers.
Responsibilities, but not limited to:
- Representing, promoting, and expanding all company brands to the design industry for both interior and exterior specifications.
- Identifying and engaging with architects and developers to keep company products front of mind.
- Building and maintaining strategic partnerships with existing and new professionals within the industry.
- Attending to all requests for pricing, quotations, product information, and samples.
- Identifying gaps and opportunities for growth of the brands.
- Handling and tracking all leads received through various channels.
- Defining target markets and customer segments.
- Conducting brand presentations and product training presentations where necessary.
- Attending industry events and networking functions.
- Developing contacts and managing business relationships with architects involved in the specifying and decision-making process of projects.
- Offering expert technical advice on company products.
- Working with product, marketing, and sales teams to ensure client satisfaction.
- Increasing market share and sales to clients.
- Creating digital marketing awareness amongst professionals within the dedicated regions.
- Maintaining accurate records in CRM systems.
