Overview
A well-established company based in Alrode is seeking an experienced RF Technician / Electronic Systems Technician to join their technical team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, programming, commissioning, troubleshooting, and support of various communication and electronic safety systems within mining and industrial environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Installation, programming, testing, and commissioning of:
- Leaky Feeder systems
- Collision Avoidance Systems (CAS)
- Personnel Detection Systems (PDS)
- Belt Rip Systems (BRS)
- Radio communication devices
- Wi-Fi and fibre installations
- Conduct site audits and compile technical reports
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical and electronic system issues
- Assist with material requirements planning
- Submit daily reports, time sheets, and expense claims
- Maintain company tools, vehicles, and equipment
- Attend client and management meetings
- Travel locally and internationally when required
- Ensure compliance with site medicals, inductions, and safety requirements
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 / Matric
- Radio Frequency trade-related qualification/certificate
- Experience with Leaky Feeder systems essential
- Experience with CAS, PDS, BRS, and radio systems
- Wi-Fi and fibre installation experience
- Handheld and mobile radio programming knowledge
- Basic programming skills
- Computer literate with MS Projects proficiency
- Valid Code 8 driver’s licence
- Medically fit and willing to travel
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
