Financial Manager (FMCG / Manufacturing)

We are seeking a highly experienced and commercially astute Financial Manager to lead and oversee the full finance function within a dynamic FMCG / manufacturing environment. This is a senior leadership role suited to a qualified CA(SA) with strong technical expertise and proven management experience.
Purpose of the Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the full finance and payroll function, ensuring accurate and compliant financial reporting, statutory requirements, and providing critical financial insights to support strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Compliance
- Oversee the preparation of accurate and timeous financial statements and reporting packs (IFRS)
- Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting cycles, including statutory reporting
- Ensure compliance with financial reporting standards, internal controls, and audit requirements
- Oversee balance sheet reconciliations, trial balances, and cash flow reporting
Tax & Regulatory Management
- Manage all tax-related functions including VAT, PAYE, and income tax
- Review and submit tax returns and ensure SARS compliance
- Liaise with external auditors and tax advisors
Finance Operations
- Oversee debtors, creditors, cashbook, and payment processes
- Manage cash flow and ensure optimal working capital management
- Ensure compliance with financial policies and SOPs
Payroll Management
- Oversee the full payroll function, ensuring accuracy and compliance
- Manage payroll-related statutory requirements and third-party payments
Assets & Projects
- Manage fixed asset registers and annual asset verification
- Oversee finance-related projects and process improvements
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead and develop a high-performing finance team
- Drive performance, training, and continuous improvement within the team
Minimum Requirements
- CA(SA) qualification (essential)
- Minimum 7+ years’ experience within FMCG or manufacturing
- Proven experience in a financial management / leadership role
- Strong knowledge of IFRS, GAAP, and statutory reporting
- Advanced Excel skills and strong financial systems exposure
