This role provides the opportunity to move beyond transactional payroll into a leadership position where you will drive process improvement, ensure regulatory compliance, and implement system enhancements. You will work closely with HR, Finance, and external stakeholders, positioning yourself as a key contributor to the organisation’s operational success.

Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the full payroll function across multiple regions
- Lead, mentor, and manage payroll and time & attendance teams
- Ensure accurate and timely payroll processing, including overtime, benefits, and third-party payments
- Maintain compliance with statutory requirements (PAYE, UIF, SDL, COIDA)
- Prepare reconciliations, variance reports, and statutory submissions
- Manage payroll systems (Sage, Pay Space) including upgrades and data integrity
- Drive process improvements and implement system enhancements
- Ensure audit readiness and support internal and external audits
- Collaborate with HR, Finance, and stakeholders to ensure seamless payroll operations
Job Experience & Skills Required / Ideal Candidate Profile:
Education:- National Diploma or Degree in HR, Accounting, or Payroll Administration
Experience:- Minimum 5 years’ experience in payroll administration
- 2–3 years’ experience in a supervisory or management role
- Proven experience managing payroll across multiple entities or regions
Skills & Competencies:- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Experience with Sage 300 or similar payroll/accounting systems
- Strong understanding of payroll legislation and compliance requirements
- Strong leadership and team management ability
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills
- High attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Commitment to confidentiality and data security
