In this pivotal leadership role, you will take full ownership of financial control across multiple Southern African entities, ensuring compliance, governance, and accuracy in financial reporting. You will play a key role in strategic decision-making, risk management, and driving financial sustainability across the region.
This opportunity offers the chance to work within a complex, multi-country environment, exposure to senior stakeholders, and involvement in high-level projects such as mergers, acquisitions, and ERP transformations.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead and manage financial control functions across multiple entities within Southern Africa
- Ensure compliance with IFRS, statutory regulations, and internal governance frameworks
- Oversee tax, treasury, and audit processes, ensuring adherence to regulatory and internal standards
- Drive accurate and timely financial reporting, including board and audit committee submissions
- Manage cash flow, financial risk, and treasury controls across the region
- Lead financial control projects such as mergers, acquisitions, and ERP system implementations
- Implement and maintain strong internal control frameworks and financial policies
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes
Job Experience and Skills Required:Education:- BCom Honours Degree
- CA(SA) qualification (non-negotiable)
Experience:- Minimum 7 years’ post-qualification experience within a financial control environment
- Proven track record in financial control within a dynamic, complex organisation
- Experience in people management, stakeholder engagement, and change management
- Exposure to multi-entity or regional financial oversight preferred
- Mining or heavy industry experience advantageous
Skills:- Strong knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting standards
- Advanced Excel skills
- Experience with ERP systems (Aurora advantageous)
- Strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills
- Ability to operate both independently and within a matrix organisation
