Our client operates within the financial services industry and is seeking an experienced Underwriter & Claims Consultant to provide underwriting and claims support to Advisers within the Personal Lines insurance environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the full underwriting and claims process while maintaining strong client relationships and ensuring excellent service delivery.
Based in Blouberg, Western Cape, this role offers the opportunity to work with a well-established organisation where attention to detail, customer service, and technical insurance expertise are highly valued.
Key Responsibilities
- Liaise with clients and advisers regarding Personal Lines insurance matters.
- Prepare insurance quotations and policy documentation.
- Issue new policies, renewals, endorsements, and related documentation.
- Manage the full Personal Lines underwriting process, including renewals, endorsements, quotes, new business, re-broking, and compliance requirements.
- Handle Personal Lines claims from initiation through to finalisation.
- Ensure all cover is placed before the end of each business day.
- Maintain accurate records and information on relevant systems.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.
- Communicate professionally with clients throughout both underwriting and claims processes.
- Perform general administration related to Personal Lines underwriting and claims.
Job Experience and Skills Required
- Grade 12.
- NQF Level 4 Full Qualification in Short-Term Insurance.
- RE5 successfully completed.
- Minimum 5 years' Personal Lines short-term insurance experience.
- Sound understanding of short-term insurance underwriting and claims procedures.
- Computer literate with proficiency in MS Office, Email, and Internet applications.
- Strong attention to detail and administration skills.
