Job Summary
Job Description:
As the Cost Accountant, your duties and responsibilities include the following:
Monitor and consolidate daily sales, expenses, cash-ups, and ensure accurate reconciliations across all locations
Resolve reporting discrepancies with store manager swiftly and professionally
Oversee all stock movements, including wastage, shrinkage, and variances across stores and the laboratory
Collaborate with Procurement and Operations to ensure accurate cost allocation and stock efficiency
Conduct regular financial and stock audits, ensuring adherence to internal controls and accounting standards
Identify and escalate risks, irregularities, or non-compliance to senior management
Maintain and update recipe costing, menu pricing, and product profitability models
Analyse ingredients and import cost changes, partnering with culinary teams to balance luxury quality with cost efficiency
Prepare monthly cost analyses, variance reports, and provide insights to support operational and management decisions
Skills & Experience:
3-5 years of experience in cost accounting, preferably from retail, FMCG or hospitality industry
Strong knowledge of stock control and cost management
Advanced Excel Skills
Proficiency working on Xero, Sage, or other relevant ERP systems
Experience with POS-integrated stock system is advantageous
Qualification:
Professional accounting certification (CIMA, SAIPA, SAICA)
Completed finance degree
