This position is ideal for a finance professional who enjoys taking ownership of the full finance function, influencing strategic decisions, and working closely with senior leadership. Beyond ensuring accurate financial reporting, you will be responsible for strengthening controls, optimising processes, and providing the financial insights needed to support a dynamic operational environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage the complete financial function of the business.
- Prepare and review monthly management accounts and annual financial statements.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
- Manage cash flow, treasury functions, and working capital requirements.
- Ensure compliance with IFRS and maintain accurate financial reporting standards.
- Oversee taxation, VAT submissions, statutory reporting, and external audit processes.
- Develop and enhance internal controls, governance procedures, and financial processes.
- Partner with operational and commercial teams to provide strategic financial guidance and support business objectives.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team to ensure high levels of performance and engagement.
Requirements
- BCom Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- Completed CIMA, SAICA, or SAIPA articles.
- 5–10 years' experience in a Financial Management or senior finance leadership role.
- Essential experience within the Shipping, Freight, Maritime, Logistics, or Transport sectors.
- Strong working knowledge and practical application of IFRS.
- Proven leadership experience with the ability to manage and develop finance teams.
- Strong commercial and analytical capabilities.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and operationally focused environment.
- Advanced technical accounting and financial reporting expertise.
