Job Summary
This role is suited to a commercially minded finance professional who is comfortable taking ownership of the accounting function while leading a small team. If you enjoy working across reporting, controls and daily finance operations, and have proven people management experience, this opportunity offers both stability and responsibility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the full accounting function up to management accounts
- Oversee monthly reporting and ensure accuracy of financial data
- Review general ledger, journals and reconciliations
- Supervise and support the bookkeeping, debtors and creditors functions
- Ensure effective control over accounts payable and receivable
- Manage month-end processes and reporting deadlines
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and financial procedures
- Liaise with auditors and support audit processes
- Assist with budgeting and financial planning
Job Experience and Skills Required:
- BCom Degree in Accounting / Finance (essential)
- Proven experience in a commercial accounting environment
- Management experience is essential (must have managed bookkeepers, debtors and creditors)
- Strong understanding of the full accounting function
- Industry experience open
- Strong Excel skills and ERP system exposure
- High attention to detail and strong organizational ability
- Confident communicator with leadership capability
