Job Summary
A growing business within the engineering and project development space is looking for a hands-on Accountant to join their finance team. With multiple projects in motion, this role offers the opportunity to get involved in the financial side of development; from cost tracking to reporting and analysis.
You’ll work closely with the Senior Group Accountant, supporting the property development and project function while ensuring that financial information remains accurate, structured and decision-ready.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure accurate financial records
- Prepare journals and perform detailed reconciliations
- Manage bookkeeping processes up to balance sheet level
- Assist with project cost tracking and reporting
- Support month-end close and management accounts
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting standards
- Support audits and contribute to finance-related projects
Job Experience and Skills Required:
- BCom Degree in Accounting or Finance
- CIMA in progress or SAIPA qualification advantageous
- Minimum 3+ years’ experience in an accounting role
- Experience in a project-based or services environment beneficial
- Strong understanding of full bookkeeping to balance sheet
- Solid Excel skills
- High attention to detail and strong analytical ability
- Able to work in a fast-paced, evolving environment
