Job Summary
This role is suited to a commercially minded professional who enjoys taking ownership of the full accounting function while leading a small team. If you are comfortable operating across reporting, controls and day-to-day finance operations, and have proven people management experience, this opportunity offers both stability and responsibility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the full accounting function up to management accounts
- Oversee monthly reporting and ensure accuracy of financial data
- Review and manage general ledger, journals and reconciliations
- Supervise and support the bookkeeper, debtors and creditors functions
- Ensure effective control over accounts payable and receivable
- Manage month-end processes and reporting deadlines
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and financial procedures
- Support audits and liaise with external stakeholders
- Assist with budgeting and financial planning processes
Job Experience and Skills Required:
- BCom Degree in Accounting / Finance (essential)
- Minimum 5 years’ commercial accounting experience
- Proven management experience (must have managed bookkeeper, debtors and creditors)
- Strong understanding of full accounting function
- Experience in a services, healthcare or similar environment advantageous
- Strong Excel skills and ERP system exposure
- High attention to detail and strong organizational ability
- Confident communicator with leadership capability
