Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented "Payment Query Management Team Leader" to join our Finance team in Johannesburg North. This role is responsible for overseeing payment processes, managing queries, ensuring compliance with financial controls, and leading the Payment Queries (i.e., Accounts Payable) team to deliver accurate and timely results.
Duties & Key Responsibilities:
Manage invoice processing and VIM approvals (Level 1 and ad hoc Level 2)
Resolve invoice and payment related queries across multiple company codes
Review and monitor VIM approval and reporting metrics
Perform age analysis, reconciliations, and clearing activities
Review and approve accruals in line with month-end requirements
Oversee payment schedules, including foreign payments, ensuring accuracy and completeness
Manage Payment Queries (Accounts Payable) mailboxes and respond to stakeholder queries
Act as primary liaison for vendor onboarding and master data updates
Maintain key finance tracking spreadsheets and provide operational support
Process intercompany invoices and review ERP batch postings
Lead, coach, and support Payment Queries (Accounts Payable) team
Allocate workload, monitor performance, and ensure adherence to controls
Act as first point of escalation for complex queries
Educational Qualifications and Professional Experience:
Matric (required)
Degree or diploma in Finance, Accounting, or related field
3–5 years’ experience in Accounts Payable or Finance Operations
Experience working with SAP VIM or similar ERP systems
Strong proficiency in Excel
Competent in using digital platforms and systems effectively to perform tasks
Proven ability to work in a fast paced and results driven environment
