Job Summary
Our client, a well-established and reputable organization within the industrial and manufacturing sector, is seeking an experienced Group Financial Manager to join their finance leadership team. This opportunity is ideal for a technically strong and operationally involved finance professional who has completed SAICA articles and is looking to step into a role with both strategic and hands-on responsibilities.
The successful candidate will oversee the full group finance function within a plant-based environment, managing a team of 7 direct reports. You will be responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong financial controls, and supporting business decision-making through meaningful financial insights.
This role requires a commercially minded individual who is comfortable engaging with operations, understands the nuances of an industrial plant environment, and can drive efficiencies across finance processes. You will work closely with senior leadership and play a key role in shaping the financial direction of the business.

Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the full group finance function and ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards.
Manage and mentor a team of 7 direct reports, driving performance and development.
Lead month-end and year-end reporting processes, including consolidation.
Prepare and review annual financial statements.
Drive budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
Provide financial insights and analysis to support strategic decision-making.
Strengthen internal controls, governance, and financial processes.
Partner with operational teams within the plant to improve efficiencies and cost management.
Manage audit processes and liaise with external auditors.
Job Experience and Skills Required:
Education:
CA(SA) / AGA(SA) – non-negotiable (SAICA articles completed)
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years post-articles experience.
Proven experience in a Financial Manager or Group Financial Manager role.
Experience within an industrial, manufacturing, or plant-based environment is essential.
Demonstrated experience managing and leading a finance team.
Skills:
Strong technical accounting and reporting knowledge.
Strong leadership and people management skills.
Advanced Excel and ERP systems proficiency.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Ability to operate at both a strategic and operational level.
