Our client is seeking a Cost & Financial Accountant to join their finance team. This role is ideal for a finance professional who enjoys analysing manufacturing costs, improving efficiencies, and translating financial data into meaningful business insights.The successful candidate will play a key role in cost management, reporting, and financial accounting activities while supporting operational and strategic decision-making. This position offers excellent exposure to the full product lifecycle, from raw material costing through to finished goods analysis.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform product costing and cost analysis across manufacturing operations
- Analyse raw material costs and finished product profitability
- Assist with zero-based budgeting and costing exercises
- Prepare cost reports and management information
- Monitor inventory, production costs, and manufacturing variances
- Support budgeting and forecasting activities
- Assist with month-end accounting and reporting processes
- Perform financial accounting responsibilities as required
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and cost-saving projects
Job Experience and Skills Required
Education:- BCom Accounting, Finance or related qualification
- Studying towards CIMA (non-negotiable)
- Minimum 4 years' accounting experience
- Manufacturing industry experience essential
- Strong costing experience essential
- Experience costing from raw materials through to finished products
- Understanding of zero-based costing and budgeting methodologies
- Exposure to financial accounting functions
- SAP advantageous
- Advanced Microsoft Excel
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Cost accounting and variance analysis
- Financial reporting and reconciliations
