Leadership Oversight Manager

Job Purpose

We are seeking an experienced Leadership Oversight Manager to provide governance, coordination and strategic oversight across complex business and technology initiatives. The successful candidate will support senior leadership by monitoring delivery performance, strengthening accountability and ensuring that programmes operate within approved governance, risk and compliance frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide oversight across strategic programmes, projects and operational workstreams.
• Monitor delivery against agreed objectives, milestones, budgets and quality standards.
• Prepare executive reports, dashboards and presentations for senior leadership and governance forums.
• Coordinate SteerCo meetings, leadership reviews and programme-governance forums.
• Track decisions, actions, risks, issues, dependencies and escalations.
• Challenge delivery teams constructively and ensure that corrective actions are implemented.
• Evaluate programme health and identify areas requiring leadership intervention.
• Ensure alignment between business strategy, technology delivery and operational priorities.
• Review business cases, delivery plans, budgets and resource requirements.
• Monitor compliance with internal governance, risk, audit and regulatory requirements.
• Facilitate collaboration between executives, programme managers, business teams, technology teams, risk and compliance.
• Support portfolio prioritisation, resource planning and executive decision-making.
• Ensure leadership decisions are accurately documented, communicated and implemented.
• Identify delivery trends and recommend improvements to governance and execution practices.
• Maintain appropriate governance documentation and audit evidence.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Commerce, Finance, Information Technology or a related discipline.
• A postgraduate qualification or MBA would be advantageous.
• Relevant certifications in programme management, project management, governance or risk would be beneficial.
• At least 8–10 years’ experience in programme governance, portfolio oversight, business management or executive advisory roles.
• Demonstrated experience working with senior executives and governance committees.
• Strong banking or financial-services experience is essential.
• Experience overseeing complex business and technology transformation initiatives.
• Previous experience within a large, highly regulated corporate environment.

Preferred Experience

• Experience developing executive dashboards and presenting insights to ExCo or SteerCo forums.
• Understanding of Agile, Waterfall and hybrid delivery methodologies.
• Familiarity with tools such as Jira, Confluence, Power BI, Clarity or similar portfolio-management platforms.
