Opportunity within Collections Department
Location: Johannesburg
Employment Type: 6-Month Contract
A reputable financial services organisation is looking for motivated and results-driven individuals to join their Collections Department. This role is well suited to recent graduates with a BCom in accounting, finance or economics only, as well as candidates with the specified qualifications who have some experience in credit collections in a banking/financial services environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Engage with clients regarding outstanding accounts
Negotiate and implement suitable payment arrangements
Monitor account activity and follow up on overdue balances
Maintain accurate records of interactions and agreements
Ensure adherence to internal processes and regulatory standards
Do affordability and risk assessments for credit card applications
Minimum Requirements:
BCom in Accounting, Finance or Economics
AND/OR 1–3 years’ experience in credit in a banking/financial services environment
Strong communication and negotiation skills
Good numerical and analytical ability
Ability to manage challenging conversations professionally
Clear criminal and credit record
