Job Summary
Conduct operational audits across restaurant locations, including cash handling, stock, food safety, waste, and asset controls
Perform corporate audits covering finance, HR, payroll, procurement, and compliance functions
Assess the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls and recommend practical improvements
Ensure compliance with company policies, SOPs, and applicable South African legislation
Analyse financial and operational performance data and validate reporting accuracy
Prepare clear, concise audit reports outlining findings, risks, and recommendations
Perform follow‑up audits to ensure corrective actions are implemented and effective
Support the development of risk management frameworks and annual audit plans
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to improve processes and mitigate risks
Assist with investigations into irregularities, fraud, and policy breaches
Document findings thoroughly and escalate issues where required
Travel to operational sites as part of audit execution
Skills & Experience:
Minimum 3 years’ internal audit experience
Experience within restaurant, retail, or FMCG environments preferred
Strong knowledge of South African legislation such as Companies Act, VAT, Labour Law, Food Safety
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and audit or data analysis tools
Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and critical‑thinking skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with stakeholder confidence
Qualification:
Bachelor’s Degree in Internal Auditing, Accounting, Finance, OR Equivalent
CIA, CISA, or Completed Articles - Advantageous
