Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and driven Technical Sales Estimator to join a fast-paced engineering environment. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on accuracy, enjoys working with technical information, and can manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate quotations for equipment, spares, repairs, and breakdowns
- Compile detailed costings based on materials, labour, and supplier pricing
- Source and compare supplier quotes to ensure best pricing and lead times
- Liaise with internal teams (engineering, procurement, production) for technical input
- Manage and track enquiries and quotations through internal systems
- Follow up on quotations to drive order conversion
- Ensure confirmed orders are handed over efficiently for execution
- Maintain accurate records of quotations and costing data
- Assist in improving costing tools and quotation processes
- Provide support to sales and technical teams as required
Minimum Requirements
- Matric (Mathematics essential)
- Relevant qualification in Technical Sales / Engineering (advantageous)
- Strong MS Office skills (especially Excel)
- Previous experience in costing, estimating, or technical internal sales (preferred)
- Ability to interpret technical specifications and drawings
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Excellent organisational and time management ability
- Strong communication skills
- Valid driver’s licence
