Job Summary
Job description/responsibilities:
- Review and monitor the electronic equipment in place.
- Make suggestions on equipment upgrades that could improve performance or lower cost.
- Create an effective maintenance schedule for the electronic equipment and components in the machinery.
- Complete repairs on electronic equipment as needed.
- Keep logs of all equipment and their repair and service schedules.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and air tools to complete repair or service work.
- Install new equipment as needed and test equipment for functionality before sign-off.
- Ensure quality checks are completed of installed and new equipment.
- Work with the engineering team to collaborate on repair projects.
- Liaise with external parts suppliers to obtain repair parts.
- Work in line with health and safety guidelines at all times.
Job Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
Qualifications: Grade 12 (Matric). Bachelor’s degree or above in Electrical Engineering or related field.
Experience: Minimum 3 years’ experience as an Electrical Engineer.
Skills:
- Must have background or extensive knowledge of at least one or more of our core focus areas, being:
- HV Substation Design (132/88 kV etc.)
- HV Overhead Lines Design (132/88 kV etc.)
- MV and LV Reticulations Design
- Renewable / Alternative Energy
- Must be a registered professional engineer (ECSA) or at least liable to be registered.
- Working with Microsoft Office packages.
- Working knowledge of other packages like, Retic Master, PowerOffice, Bentley MicroStation, DigSilent, MS Projects, Dialux etc. will be an added advantage.
- Must be able to undertake different office tasks (flexible to help if need by others).
