Industrial Engineering specialist in the design, fabrication, installation, and maintenance of industrial boilers, pressure vessels, and steam piping systems, seeks to employ a Project Manager. You will be responsible for planning, executing, and closing field-based mechanical engineering projects—from boiler maintenance and valve installation to large-scale mechanical overhauls.
For the position you would be required to have:
• B. Tech/ B. Eng in Mechanical Engineering
• Heavy industrial engineering experience preferred
• Minimum 2+ years of field-based mechanical project experience.
• 2+ years of team leadership in an engineering project environment.
• Experience working with NDT, AIA, and safety documentation.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel.
Responsibilities would include you to:
· Develop project timelines and ensure tasks are properly scheduled.
· Liaise with engineers and workshop to confirm technical specs and fabrication status.
· Secure all documentation: safety files, drawings, method statements, and risk assessments.
· Identify material needs early and follow up with procurement to avoid last-minute shortages.
· Manage and lead all on-site personnel, including technicians, artisans, and subcontractors.
· Enforce discipline, safety, and productivity on site.
· Coordinate equipment, tools, and vehicles required for execution.
· Ensure real-time updates to planning tools are made and monitored.
· Serve as the primary point of contact for client representatives and inspectors (AIA, NDT, etc.).
· Handle disputes and approval negotiations professionally.
· Manage client expectations and variation orders proactively.
· Resolve problems on site independently and make fast decisions in line with company values.
· Coordinate with the Workshop Manager and General Manager when unplanned events occur (e.g., equipment failures, absenteeism, rework).
Salary around R50k per month
