About Role:

A well-established manufacturing organisation is looking for a Trade-Tested Fitter to join their maintenance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing and optimising production equipment to ensure safe, reliable and uninterrupted production.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, repairs and servicing of conveyors, motors and mechanical production equipment.

• Diagnose and repair mechanical faults and breakdowns to minimise production downtime.

• Maintain and troubleshoot hydraulic systems, including leaks and pressure-related faults.

• Conduct preventative and planned maintenance.

• Perform welding, fabrication and equipment modifications as required.

• Maintain and repair industrial water systems.

• Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic and water system faults.

• Assist with machinery installations and maintenance improvements.

• Inspect equipment to identify potential faults before breakdowns occur.

• Respond to production breakdowns and complete repairs efficiently.

• Read and interpret technical drawings, manuals and equipment specifications.

• Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.

• Ensure compliance with safety, quality and operational standards.

• Maintain good housekeeping in maintenance areas.

Minimum Requirements

• Trade-Tested Fitter qualification.

• Proven experience in a plastic manufacturing, production or industrial environment.

• Strong mechanical maintenance and fault-finding experience.

• Practical experience with conveyors, motors and mechanical equipment.

• Good knowledge of hydraulic systems.

• Welding and fabrication experience.

• Experience with industrial water systems will be advantageous.

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals.

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

• Good communication and teamwork skills.

• Ability to work under pressure in a production environment.
