Electrician – Poultry Processing Plant
Location: Epping II, Cape Town
A well-established food manufacturing company is seeking a qualified and experienced Electrician to join its Further Processing Plant in Epping II.
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing and ensuring the compliance of all electrical equipment across the site. This role requires someone who can work effectively in a fast-paced production environment and respond promptly to both planned and unplanned maintenance requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Perform routine electrical maintenance and repairs on processing equipment.
Attend to breakdowns and unplanned production interruptions.
Install, maintain and repair electrical and processing equipment.
Ensure compliance with SANS 10142 wiring regulations and relevant legislation.
Maintain strict electrical, safety and risk-control standards.
Ensure compliance with HACCP, the OHS Act, EFIS and internal audit requirements.
Be present during plant start-up and ensure all start-up procedures are followed.
Ensure shutdown procedures are completed before weekends and public holidays.
Liaise with management regarding maintenance projects, outstanding repairs, safety matters and operational requirements.
Maintain high housekeeping standards within the maintenance environment.
Use company resources responsibly and efficiently.
Minimum Requirements
Qualified Electrician with a valid Red Seal Trade Test.
A valid Three-Phase Wireman’s Licence is essential.
Minimum N4 Electrical Engineering qualification.
Previous experience in electrical maintenance and repairs within a manufacturing or processing environment.
Experience working on poultry processing equipment will be advantageous.
Own reliable transport.
Willing and able to work shifts, weekends, public holidays and overtime when required.
Fluent in English and at least one additional official South African language.
