Job & Company Description:
A well-established industry leader in valve and flow control solutions is seeking a Technical Sales Representative to manage and expand its presence within the mining sector across Gauteng, Mpumalanga, Limpopo, KwaZulu-Natal, and the Western and Northern Cape regions.
This role is suited to a dynamic sales professional with a strong technical background and proven success in the valve industry. You will be responsible for developing new business opportunities, strengthening relationships with key accounts, identifying customer needs, and providing tailored technical solutions. The successful candidate will play a critical role in achieving sales and profitability targets while serving as a trusted advisor to clients within the mining industry.
Education:
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- Diploma in Business Management
- Engineering Degree (Mechanical preferred) advantageous
Job Experience & Skills Required:
- Minimum 5–10 years' sales experience within the valve industry, preferably servicing the mining or industrial sectors
- Strong technical sales experience involving complex engineering products and solutions
- Comprehensive knowledge of industrial valve products and applications
- Sound understanding of the South African mining and industrial market
- Proven track record of achieving sales, gross profit, and profitability targets
- Strong relationship management and key account development experience
- Excellent negotiation, presentation, and communication skills
- Ability to identify customer requirements and recommend suitable technical solutions
- Experience conducting product demonstrations, technical presentations, and customer training
- Proficiency in CRM systems, Navision, and Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong commercial, analytical, and organizational skills
- Experience within a corporate sales environment
- Willingness to travel extensively within South Africa
