Vaal, this role offers the opportunity to manage key customer relationships while actively developing new business within industrial and process-driven environments.
As an External Sales Engineer, you will be responsible for promoting and selling instrumentation solutions, providing technical support to clients, and driving sales growth across your territory. This role is ideal for a technically strong sales professional who enjoys being on the road and working closely with plant-level decision makers.
Education:
- Diploma or Degree in Instrumentation, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical qualification
OR - Strong technical sales experience within instrumentation
Job Experience & Skills Required:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in external sales within the instrumentation industry
- Proven experience selling process instrumentation, including pressure, temperature, level, and flow equipment
- Exposure to valves, transmitters, sensors, and control instrumentation
- Ability to provide technical, application-based sales solutions
- Experience calling on plant managers, maintenance managers, and engineers
- Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills
- Ability to manage a sales pipeline and meet revenue targets
- Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel within the Vaal region
