Mine Planner
Location: Rustenburg, North WestType: 1year contract with possibility to extend to 3 years
POSITION OVERVIEW
Our client is seeking an experienced Mine Planner to provide professional underground mine planning and scheduling services at a client site in Rustenburg. The successful candidate must have strong Datamine experience, specifically within an underground mining environment, and be able to work independently with minimal supervision.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and maintain short-, medium- and long-term underground mine plans and schedules.
- Utilise Datamine software for mine planning, scheduling and design.
- Prepare production schedules aligned with operational targets and mine plans.
- Develop mine layouts, designs and sequencing in accordance with geological and mining parameters.
- Analyse mine production data and identify potential constraints, risks and opportunities.
- Liaise with mining, geology, engineering and production teams to ensure plans are practical and achievable.
- Monitor actual production against planned targets and make adjustments where required.
- Provide planning and scheduling support to the client and operational teams.
- Ensure mine plans comply with relevant safety, technical and operational requirements.
- Prepare planning reports, schedules, presentations and technical documentation.
- Conduct planning reviews and recommend improvements to mining efficiencies and production performance.
- Work independently at the client site and manage planning deliverables within agreed deadlines.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Relevant Mining Engineering / Mine Planning qualification.
- Proven experience as an Underground Mine Planner.
- Previous Datamine underground mine planning and scheduling experience is essential.
- Strong understanding of underground mining methods, production planning and scheduling.
- Proven ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned deliverables.
- Strong analytical, numerical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent planning, organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to interact professionally with technical and operational teams.

- Underground mine planning and scheduling.
- Datamine mine planning software.
- Production planning and optimisation.
- Mine design and sequencing.
- Short-, medium- and long-term planning.
- Working directly with mining clients and operational teams.
CONTRACT & REMUNERATION
Contract: 1-year contract, with the possibility of extension up to 3 years based on operational requirements and performance.Salary: R90,000 - R120,000 per month, depending on qualifications and experience.
Location: Rustenburg, Northwest.
Important: This position is Rustenburg-based, and accommodation, relocation assistance and related living arrangements will not be provided. The successful candidate must be able to make their own accommodation and transport arrangements.
