Job Summary
CLIENT in the MINING INDUSTRY requires the service of a MINERAL RESOURCE MANAGER at their plant in the NORTHWEST AREA as soon as possible
Qualifications and Experience:
- BSc Degree in Geology
- Survey, Rock Engineering and Mine Planning experience essential
- Extensive geological orebody modelling and estimation software experience
- Minimum of 10 years progressive experience in mineral resource evaluation and management
- Minimum of 10 years’ progressive experience in the mining industry
- Extensive knowledge of mining operations with a focus on resource optimization
- Proven track record in successful project management, demonstrating expertise in addressing various mining challenges and a comprehensive understanding of SA’s mining regulations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Duties:
- Resource Evaluation: Conduct comprehensive mineral resource assessments and provide strategic recommendations for optimal extraction
- Operational Optimization: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance mining operations and resource utilization efficiency
- Project Planning: Lead and contribute to the planning and execution of mineral resource projects, ensuring adherence to industry standards and regulations
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with resource extraction, ensuring safe and sustainable practices
- Collaboration: Work closely with Geologists, Mining Engineers and other stakeholders to maximize the value of mineral resources
- Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely reports on mineral resource estimates, contributing to informed decision making
