Job Summary
Overview:
Our client, in the automotive sector, is seeking a seasoned HR Professional with a strong focus on Industrial Relations and MIBCO compliance. This role is critical in ensuring a stable, compliant, and high-performing unionised environment. The successful incumbent will act as a strategic partner to plant leadership, driving best-practice HR and IR frameworks aligned with operational and legislative requirements.
Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 12 / Matric
- Relevant Degree/Diploma in Human Resources or related field
- Minimum 5+ years’ HR experience, with at least 3 years in a senior/managerial capacity
- Proven experience within manufacturing or automotive environments
- Strong, hands-on experience with MIBCO Bargaining Council processes
- In-depth knowledge of South African labour legislation (LRA, BCEA, EE Act, etc.)
- Demonstrated experience in managing unionised environments
Responsibilities:
Industrial Relations & Compliance (Core Focus)
- Lead all industrial relations strategies and processes within the plant
- Ensure full compliance with MIBCO agreements, collective agreements, and labour legislation
- Represent the organisation at CCMA and DRC proceedings
- Manage disciplinary processes, grievance handling, and dispute resolution
- Provide expert IR guidance and training to management
- Maintain strong relationships with unions and ensure constructive engagement
HR Leadership & Business Partnering
- Lead and manage the HR function and team within the plant
- Act as a trusted advisor to plant leadership on all HR and IR matters
- Drive HR strategies aligned with business and production objectives
- Ensure delivery of high-quality, responsive HR services
BBBEE & Employment Equity
- Lead and manage BBBEE initiatives, reporting, and compliance
- Drive implementation and monitoring of the Employment Equity Plan
- Promote transformation and inclusive workplace practices
HR Operations, Reporting & Projects
- Oversee HR reporting, analytics, and workforce insights
- Track and report on HR KPIs and Balanced Scorecards
- Participate in plant forums and operational meetings
- Lead HR-related projects and continuous improvement initiatives
Talent Acquisition & Employee Lifecycle
- Oversee and manage the end-to-end recruitment and selection process
- Support workforce planning aligned to operational requirements
- Ensure effective onboarding, employee integration, and exit management
Training & Development
- Support and guide skills development and training initiatives
- Facilitate IR-related training and capability building for line management
- Drive continuous learning aligned with operational needs
