Job Summary
Key Responsibilities
- Perform rigging activities related to the installation, relocation, maintenance, and removal of plant equipment.
- Safely plan and execute lifting operations in accordance with established procedures and safety standards.
- Inspect lifting equipment, lifting tackle, chains, slings, and associated rigging gear.
- Ensure all lifting activities comply with legal and operational requirements.
- Assist with plant shutdowns, maintenance projects, and equipment upgrades.
- Support maintenance and production teams during equipment breakdowns and repairs.
- Participate in plant improvement initiatives and production-related activities where required.
- Identify potential hazards and contribute to a strong safety culture.
- Complete relevant documentation, inspections, and reporting requirements.
Minimum Requirements
- Qualified Rigger Trade Certificate.
- 5-8 years of post-trade experience within manufacturing, engineering, mining, or heavy industrial environments.
- Proven experience with lifting operations, equipment installation, and maintenance support.
- Sound knowledge of lifting equipment, rigging principles, and safety regulations.
- Ability to read technical drawings and lifting plans.
- Strong understanding of plant operations and maintenance practices.
- Valid driver's licence.
- Must be based in or willing to relocate to the Middelburg area.
