Key Responsibilities
- Fabricate, assemble, install, and repair a variety of steel structures and components.
- Perform maintenance and repair work on plant equipment and production machinery.
- Interpret engineering drawings, technical sketches, and fabrication specifications.
- Conduct fault finding and identify practical repair solutions.
- Perform welding, cutting, grinding, and fitting activities to a high standard.
- Support plant shutdowns, maintenance projects, and equipment installations.
- Assist maintenance and production teams to minimise downtime and improve plant performance.
- Conduct inspections and ensure all work meets quality and safety requirements.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in accordance with company standards.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives across the operation.
Minimum Requirements
- Qualified Boilermaker Trade Test.
- 5-10 years post-trade experience within manufacturing, engineering, mining, or heavy industrial environments.
- Proven experience in structural fabrication, plant maintenance, and equipment repairs.
- Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
- Experience with welding and fabrication techniques.
- Sound understanding of maintenance practices and industrial plant operations.
- Strong commitment to safety, quality, and workmanship.
- Valid driver's licence.
- Must reside in or be willing to relocate to the Middelburg area.
