This is an opportunity for an experienced payroll professional to step into a senior role supporting complex, multi-site payroll operations across South Africa and Botswana.
A leading hospitality and gaming group is looking for a highly competent Payroll Consultant to support and coordinate payroll operations within its Shared Services HR function. Working closely with the Group Payroll and Remuneration Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring accurate payroll processing, statutory compliance, reconciliations, reporting, and payroll governance across multiple business units.
This role is suited to a detail-oriented payroll specialist who thrives in high-volume environments and has strong technical payroll expertise combined with sound HR and legislative knowledge. You will engage closely with Finance, HR Business Partners, and operational leadership while supporting process improvements, system optimisation initiatives, and month-end and year-end payroll activities.

What You’ll Do
• Support end-to-end payroll processing within a shared services environment • Ensure accurate and timeous payroll processing across multiple business units nationally and in Botswana • Maintain payroll governance, controls, reconciliations, and compliance standards • Administer payroll accounting interfaces between payroll and finance systems • Support payroll audits, tax submissions, COIDA submissions, and legislative reporting • Ensure compliance with South African payroll legislation and statutory requirements • Manage payroll queries and provide expert support to management and employees • Support remuneration and benefits administration processes • Maintain accurate employee payroll records and HR system data • Liaise with Finance, HR, and operational teams across multiple properties • Contribute to payroll process improvements and system optimisation initiatives • Support month-end and year-end payroll reporting and reconciliations
What You Bring
• Diploma or Degree in Payroll, HR, Finance, Accounting, or a related field • 5–8 years’ senior payroll experience within a large multi-site or shared services environment • Strong knowledge of South African payroll legislation, SARS regulations, BCEA, UIF, WCA, and payroll governance • Experience working with SAP HCM, SAP SuccessFactors, and Accpac payroll accounting systems • Strong payroll reconciliation, reporting, and analytical skills • Exposure to remuneration and benefits administration • Previous HR administration or generalist HR exposure • Cross-border payroll exposure, particularly Botswana payroll experience, is advantageous • Advanced Excel skills and strong attention to detail • Ability to manage confidential information with professionalism and discretion
