We are seeking an experienced Group Legal and Compliance Manager to join their dynamic team and uphold the highest standards of corporate responsibility and regulatory adherence.

What You'll Do:

• Manage all aspects of compliance across operating units within the group

• Oversee the group's company secretarial functions and corporate governance requirements

• Ensure adherence to legislation, regulations, policies, rulings, and conditions

• Distribute board and committee documentation and minutes, managing logistical arrangements

• Keep boards and executives informed of legislative developments

• Monitor compliance with the code of ethics and produce integrated reports

• Track and report on group sustainability and B-BBEE activities

• Support governance activities at board and executive levels, championing King IV and corporate compliance

• Advise on governance and compliance issues, including managing gambling license applications and compliance

• Implement and monitor local compliance plans and oversee compliance review meetings

• Address audit findings, maintain stakeholder relationships, and represent the group in disciplinary matters

• Communicate with regulators, obtain necessary approvals, and monitor changes in licensing processes

• Ensure compliance with legislation related to licenses, including liquor and financial legislation

• Coordinate B-BBEE verification processes and manage other associated risks as the Group’s Risk Officer

Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a legal and compliance environment within the hospitality industry

• Strong understanding of corporate governance, risk management, and legislative compliance

• Proven ability to manage regulatory relationships and oversee compliance audits

• Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills

• Ability to interpret and apply legislation relevant to gaming, liquor, and financial compliance

Familiarity with the following:

• King IV Governance Code

• B-BBEE verification processes

• Financial Intelligence Centre Act (FICA)

• Gambling licensing and compliance
