Fine Dining | Durbanville Wine Estate

An established fine dining restaurant located on the Durbanville Wine Route is currently strengthening its culinary brigade.

The kitchen operates predominantly between 08:00 and 17:00, with occasional evening shifts for private functions. Chefs receive two off-days weekly within a structured rotational roster.

Due to the estate location, candidates must reside within the Northern Suburbs and have their own reliable transport (non-negotiable).

Junior Chef de Partie (CDP) – Minimum Requirements

• 1–2+ years’ experience in a similar role
• Formal culinary qualification (essential)
• Ability to manage and run a section independently
• Comfortable assisting across hot and cold sections
• Strong communication skills and ability to perform under pressure

Commis Chef – Minimum Requirements

• 6–12 months’ kitchen experience (preferred)
• Culinary graduates or students encouraged to apply (formal training essential)
• Willingness to learn and take direction
• High attention to detail
• Strong team player with growth mindset

Key Responsibilities (Both Roles)

• Preparation and execution of dishes to fine dining standards
• Assist across kitchen sections as operationally required
• Maintain food quality, presentation and consistency
• Adhere to hygiene, cleanliness and food safety standards
• Support senior chefs during service and functions
