Leadership & People Management
Lead and manage audit teams on multiple engagements, ensuring high‑quality delivery and strong team morale
Foster a positive, motivating work environment while modelling firm values and professionalism
Mentor, coach and develop trainee accountants through structured and on‑the‑job training
Drive continuous learning, technical upskilling, and performance excellence within the audit team
Build a culture of accountability, collaboration, and client‑centric service
Engagement Management
Plan, schedule, and oversee audits, independent reviews, trusts, and individual engagements
Manage end‑to‑end engagement delivery, ensuring deadlines, budgets, and quality standards are met
Review and finalise working papers and reports for accuracy and compliance with ISA and IFRS for SMEs
Maintain strong client relationships and attend to queries and consultations
Proactively identify risks and ensure adherence to regulatory and internal requirements
Administrative & Operational Responsibilities
Monitor productivity, timekeeping, and utilisation of trainees and staff
Prepare and review fee sheets, ensuring accurate billing and budget management
Oversee SAICA and IRBA compliance processes
Support administrative and practice management activities across the firm
Skills & Experience Required
Excellent communication and leadership ability
Strong technical knowledge of ISA and IFRS for SMEs
Proven experience managing audit engagements and leading teams
Advanced computer skills
CaseWare experience
Strong planning, organising and problem‑solving abilities
A professional, driven, and client‑focused approach
Qualifications
Completed SAICA traineeship (essential)
Completed tertiary qualification in Accounting
Tax experience advantageous
