A well-established organisation in Mpumalanga is seeking a dynamic, hands-on Retail Outlet Manager to oversee the full operations of a busy retail depot in Nelspruit. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving sales, managing staff, ensuring excellent customer service, and maintaining strong operational discipline. This role requires extensive travelling, active marketing, and consistent engagement with customers and stakeholders.General Responsibilities
- Manage the retail outlet and ensure smooth daily operations
- Maintain strong customer relationships and deliver exceptional service
- Monitor and improve the financial performance of the outlet
- Conduct ongoing marketing, sales research, and product analysis
- Promote products at shows, exhibitions, and events
- Oversee stock control, inventory accuracy, and replenishment
- Manage staff performance, scheduling, and workflow
- Ensure effective time and task management across the outlet
- Oversee shop vehicles, tools, and equipment
- Control operational costs and maintain budget discipline
Specific Functions
- Achieve and exceed sales turnover targets
- Conduct continuous market research and competitor analysis
- Drive product visibility and brand awareness
- Manage daily sales activities and shop functions
- Maintain accurate stock records and reporting
Key Requirements
- Proven managerial experience in a fast-paced retail environment
- Strong, demonstrable sales background
- Must reside in Nelspruit
- Retail sales experience will be advantageous
- Practical knowledge and use of hand and power tools
- Physically fit with no underlying medical conditions
- Valid driver's licence essential
- Strong computer literacy
- Must be of sober habits and maintain professional conduct
- Fluent in Afrikaans and English
