Job Summary
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The General Manager is to be well-informed about the latest technological developments and has a strong understanding of the Groups product and its applications.
This expertise builds credibility, trust, and confidence with clients.
The role involves acting as a knowledgeable partner in discussions with owners of family businesses, as well as General Managers, buyers, and technical experts across various organisations.
The objective is to create a distinctive marketing and sales approach focused on added value, generating innovative ideas based on customer needs.
The General Manager focuses on delivering optimal solutions to both current and prospective customers and actively promotes the products and services.
The role requires strong vision, the ability to influence, and a collaborative approach to building partnerships.
In relation to Corporate, the General Manager will play a proactive and advisory role, reporting customer-related issues and key market developments.
The General Manager has a strong understanding of decision-making processes within the industry or a comparable environment.
The role is focused on expanding existing relationships and developing new client opportunities. It requires the ability to adapt to different negotiation approaches and apply appropriate strategies in different situations. A key aspect of the role involves networking and fostering strong customer relationships through consistent engagement and relationship-building activities.
The position offers a high degree of autonomy and a broad scope of responsibility. Communication lines are short, allowing for efficient decision-making.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:
The General Manager brings extensive commercial experience (particularly in investment goods) within a B2B environment, along with leadership experience and strong communication skills.
A bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering—ideally civil engineering—is preferred, along with a passion for the technical field.
The role requires proven strategic, analytical, and commercial capabilities, as well as experience in managing teams.
The General Manager is able to develop the scaffolding market for various products by clearly demonstrating the capabilities of modern scaffolding systems and aligning solutions with customer needs.
The General Manager is a practical, hands-on professional with a grounded approach.
The role requires confidence in networking and the ability to adapt to different situations both within and outside the organisation.
Ideally, the General Manager is locally based and familiar with business processes and practices in Mozambique. Proficiency in both Portuguese and English, written and spoken, is essential.
Other Requirements:
Willingness to travel frequently, especially to regions like Tete, Pemba and Palma.
Knowledge of Mozambican business practices and regulatory requirements.
Medically fit to work on heights.
